Future of Psychology Paper

As the final project in History and Systems, we were asked to write a paper exploring where we saw the future of psychology. The following paper explores the supposed “feminization” of psychology and the impacts that may have. We usually regard feminization as a negative thing, so this paper also further explores the notion of whether or not it is negative. For the following paper, I looked at various scholarly articles, both from psychological journals and not, to support my thesis.

This research paper allowed me to complete levels 1 through 4 in Information Literacy.

For this paper, I referenced multiple different sources to build my thesis. For my sources, I wanted to make sure they were credible sources for my paper. Alongside that, the resources had to apply to my research question. Thus, I used different academic databases to find the articles I needed (Information literacy level 1). I could evaluate the different sources and take the information to build on my knowledge of feminization while also further strengthening my thesis (Information literacy level 3). It is important that when referencing the different sources though to both credits the original author and not to misconstrue their words (Information literacy level 2). This allows the reader to differentiate what would be your own ideas and what are the ideas which I am presenting (information literacy level 4). The ability to understand the information I am examining is an important skill in not just understanding the original intent of the author, but also to make sure I can take the information and apply that to my argument.

To perform effective research, you must be able to understand and comprehend the information

which you are reading. If you do not understand the information that you are given, it makes it difficult to conduct effective research. The ability to understand and present the information accurately is important to research and is a skill I will continue to use in all future research endeavors.
